A woman in her 70s is fighting for her life in hospital following a collision with a motorbike this morning in West Yorkshire.
The collision happened between a motorbike and pedestrian just after 9am in South Elmsall.
Police confirm the road remains closed whilst investigations are carried out to establish the exact cause of the collision.
In a statement released today, West Yorkshire Police said,
“Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Barnsley Road, South Elmsall.
Officers were called at 9.13 this morning to reports a motorbike had been in collision with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian a woman in her 70s was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The road remains closed whilst investigations are carried out.
