Two Charged After Hero Who Went To Help Woman Being Robbed Run Over

The driver a woman and passenger a man have been charged and remanded into custody to appear at court at a later date.

Police in West Yorkshire have charged a man and a woman following an investigation into a robbery, which resulted in a hero being run over and injured after he went to help a woman who had her bagged snatched.

The incident happened in Castleford on Sunday.

In a statement released today, West Yorkshire Police said,

Two people have been charged after a man was injured after intervening following the robbery of a woman in Castleford on Sunday, 1 September.

Lisa Jane Burgess, aged 44, of Church Lane Avenue, Outwood, Wakefield, has been charged with robbery, fraud by false representation, section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

Keith Wilcox, aged 41, of Church Lane Avenue, Outwood, Wakefield, has been charged with robbery.

They were both remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today, where they were further remanded to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 1 October.
