The explosion happened on Sunday morning in Longridge.
A man in his 40s remains in hospital in a critical condition following the explosion at a residential property on Sunday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Wheatley Drive, Longridge, just after 10:30am, upon arrival, found a man outside who had suffered serious burns as a result. Two other people luckily escaped uninjured but understandably shaken and were treated by North West Ambulance Service for shock.
The detached property suffered extensive damage from the explosion along with neighbouring properties also suffering damage from the impact.
In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said,
We are continuing to investigate a suspected gas explosion in Longridge which left a man with serious injuries.

Emergency services attended and found a man in his 40s with serious burn injuries. He was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition. Two other people were treated for shock.
The property suffered significant damage and efforts are ongoing to make it safe. A small number of surrounding properties were evacuated but most people have been allowed to return home.
A joint investigation with our colleagues from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is ongoing to try to establish the cause and circumstances, but at this stage there is nothing to suggest it is suspicious or that there is any third-party involvement.
