Firefighters Remain On Scene Following Fire In Burscough

The fire began in a shed containing oxygen cylinders before spreading to the house and an adjacent house.

Emergency services were called shortly before 7:30am this morning to reports of a domestic property fire in Burscough.

Fire crews remain on scene this morning following a fire that began in a shed before spreading to the property and an adjacent property.

Three fire engines from across Lancashire responded to the fire using three hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan, an aerial ladder platform, and a gas monitor to tackle the blaze.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said,

“Three fire engines from Ormskirk and Wigan, along with the aerial ladder platform, with a supporting fire engine from Preston, and the drone attended a domestic premises on Rees Park, Burscough.

The fire involved a shed containing oxygen cylinders, which had spread to the property and an adjacent house. Firefighters used three hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan, aerial ladder platform, and a gas monitor to extinguish the fire.

Crews remain on scene.
