
A dog became trapped in the river shortly after 8am on Saturday morning.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service was called out after a dog had become trapped in a river in Rawtenstall.
Fire engines from Rawtenstall, Nelson and Darwen were dispatched to the incident to help rescue the dog.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service used a triple extension ladder along with swift water rescue equipment to rescue the animal from the water.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said,
“At 08:01 on 31 August, three fire engines from Rawtenstall, Nelson, and Darwen attended an animal rescue on Bacup Road, Rawtenstall, Rossendale.
The incident involved a dog that had become trapped in a river. Firefighters used a triple extension ladder and swift water rescue equipment to rescue the animal.
They were in attendance for approximately forty minutes.
