Two teenagers have been sentenced following a string of attempted burglaries in Preston this week.
In a statement released after sentencing, Preston Police said,
“We received multiple reports from the Frenchwood and Fulwood areas in the early hours of yesterday, Tuesday 27th August, 2024, of people trying house and car doors.
Our officers responded to reports in both areas, locating and arresting two boys in Frenchwood and arresting a 16-year-old boy in Fulwood.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, two 17-year-old boys from Preston were charged with 3 counts of attempted burglary and 2 counts of interfering with a vehicle.
Both have appeared in court today where they each pleaded guilty to the offences. One was sentenced to 12 months in a Youth Detention Centre whilst the other was given to a 12-month Youth Offending Team referral.
The 16-year-old boy has been released on bail whilst we investigate further.
