Colne Blues Returned For Its 33rd Year Showcasing All Things Music

An August Bank Holiday Weekend to remember as ‘Colne Blues’ Festival returned for its 33rd year celebrating all things music.

The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival better known as ‘Colne Blues’ returned this Bank Holiday weekend delivering a fun, packed three day entertainment package from live bands locally and from across the UK.

The event that takes place every year and organised by Colne Town Council seen its return to the town, a small civil parish market town in the borough of Pendle, East Lancashire, for its thirty-third year running.

The famous award winning festival attracts thousands of music lovers to the town and showcases the very best of blues music as well as the most exciting emerging talent from across the country and locally.

Venues from across the town come together to deliver an event like no other with fun packed entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

This year’s line-up included, The Matt Schofield Trio, Dom Martin Band, Kyla Brox & Friends, and upto fifty other bands taking to stages across three main venues doing what they do best along with street entertainment bringing a real carnival atmosphere to the town.

Nathan Cutler, Colne Town Council’s Events Officer, said: “The Blues festival is one of the best events in Colne, and that has been proved once again.

“People have visited Colne in their thousands, and we hope everyone has thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

Simon Shackleton, Festival Coordinator at Colne Blues Society, said: “Colne has done it yet again, what a tremendous weekend and one that has been a huge success.

“From the main venues and the Official Fringe venues, to our local shops, pubs and eateries, it has been another amazing community event, and one that we will remember fondly for years to come.

“The tribute to Victor Brox was absolutely remarkable and everyone who attended will be talking about that performance for many years.

“We would like to thank all our fantastic artists for their incredible performances over the weekend, and to our visitors and fans of the festival, thank you for supporting us once again.”
