A man who stabbed a partygoer in the head inside a reading bar has been jailed after being found guilty of attempted murder at Reading Crown Court.
In a statement released after sentencing, Thames Valley Police said,
“Krisma Anthony, aged 23, pictured, viciously attacked Tharel Thompson in the Walkabout Bar, Reading, in the early hours of 11 February this year…leaving him for dead at the Reading nightclub.
Today at Reading Crown Court, Anthony, of Repository Road, Greenwich, London, was found guilty by a majority verdict of attempted murder and jailed for 27 years.
Tharel was on holiday from Barbados, visiting his family, when he was attacked by Anthony, who stabbed him in the head, leaving him severely and critically injured.
As well as the physical impacts, Tharel’s family have been left financially burdened by this incident as they have had to pay for his treatment and ongoing care.
The impacts of this case will have life-long effects for Tharel and his family.
Senior investigating officer DI Nick Hind said: “The impacts that this attack has had on Mr Thompson are life changing in the extreme.
“As well as permanent scarring, Mr Thompson will never be able to fully recover to lead a full and active life as a result of this vicious assault.”
