Detectives are appealing for information after a 96-year-old woman was robbed as she arrived home in Salford.
In an appeal made today, Greater Manchester Police said,
“We’re appealing for information about the identity of a man we would like to speak to following reports that an elderly woman was robbed on Streetgate in Little Hulton in Salford.
It’s believed that a 96-year-old woman was boarding the 36 bus from Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester and got off the bus on Manchester Road East in Little Hulton around 7.15pm on 1 August 2024.
The woman arrived home and begins to pick up post from behind her front door. It has been reported that she is followed into her home and has had her gold necklace taken from her neck.
Sergeant Kevin Oakes of GMP’s Salford CID, said: “We are working tirelessly to find who is responsible, the victim has understandably been left shaken by this incident.
“We have officers in the area conducting enquiries, but we are now in a position where we would like to appeal to the public to help us.
“We want to speak to the man pictures, as he may be able to help us with our enquiries. If you recognise him, please get in touch with our investigation team.”
