Firefighters Tackled Vehicle Fire On M55

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a fire this morning.

The incident happened on the M55 motorway between Junction three and four on the west carriageway shortly after 6am on Monday morning.

The cause of the fire is unknown, and no reports of any injuries have been reported. Fire crews were in attendance for one hour while they tackled the vehicle blaze.

In an update on their website, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said,

“At 06:09 on the 19th August 2024, three fire engines from Wesham, South Shore, and Blackpool attended a vehicle fire on M55 West between Junction 3 and 4.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for an hour.
