A large Police presence can be seen in the area of Roache Avenue and Bellfarm Avenue following a serious incident.
Details of the incident have not been released at this time with North Yorkshire Police advising people to avoid the area.
Multiple police vehicles can be seen with a cordon in place along with crime scene investigators.
Armed Police were also in attendance and the police helicopter was seen hovering above.
In a statement released this morning, North Yorkshire Police said,
“We are currently dealing with a serious incident in the Roche Avenue and Bellfarm Avenue area of York.
Specialist Crime Scene Investigators and officers are conducting thorough enquiries at the scene, and their work is expected to continue throughout the weekend.
We understand that this may cause concern within the community and would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work diligently to establish the facts.
The area has been cordoned off and we would ask members of the public to avoid the area to allow our officers to carry out their work without disruption.
