Greater Manchester Police launched murder investigation after man sadly dies falling from building.
In a statement released, Greater Manchester Police said,
“At 8:42pm last night (Sunday 11 August 2024) we were called to reports that a man had fallen from a balcony on the fourth floor on Black Friar Court in Salford.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 57-year-old man was sadly pronounced deceased at hospital.
Whilst our enquiry is in the initial phases, we have arrested a 37-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody for questioning.
A scene remains in place whilst we conduct further enquiries.
In the last 24 hours we’ve undertaken extensive enquiries to understand how this man sadly lost his life.
Whilst we remain at the scene, speaking with residents and conducting extensive CCTV trawls, we need members of the public who may have been in the area, or at the address, on Sunday 11 August to come forward.
Detective Inspector David Ogden from our Salford said: “We know the community will be concerned about this tragic death, and we share their concern.
We’re appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken to us. Please don’t assume that what you know is already known to us. The smallest piece of information may be crucial to our investigation and towards getting answers for this man’s family.”
