Lancashire Police have been receiving thank you cards from across the county as members of the public share their appreciation for the hard work they do in keeping the public safe.

Over the last week, communities have seen devastating scenes from the horrific attack in Southport to the disorder that followed in communities across the UK.

But despite this, the police have been out doing their best in supporting their communities and protecting those that have been subject to disorder in their towns and cities.

In a post made on social media, Ormskirk Police said,

“THANK YOU | We would like to thank the public for your support and kindness, which has blown us away.

Over the last week, you may have seen some distressing scenes in our local communities and on social media.

These are difficult times to police and you have gone out of your way to provide us with kind words and small tokens of appreciation. Your messages of thanks do not go unnoticed. Thank you for your support ❤

We continue to offer our thoughts to the Southport community and our colleagues in other force areas.
