Arrests Made Following Damage To Burnley Barclays Bank

Police officers in Burnley have arrested five people on suspicion of criminal damage after a bank was targeted in the town in the early hours of this morning.

Officers from the force were called to Barclays Bank in St James Street following reports of criminal damage.

The bank had been subjected to broken windows and paint thrown at the building.

In a statement released today, Burnley and Padiham Police said,

“We were called at 2.09am today to Barclays Bank, St James Street, Burnley, to a report of criminal damage.

Our officers attended and found that windows at the bank had been smashed and red paint sprayed on the building.
At around 2.15am, a car was stopped by officers on Huffling Lane, Burnley.

Five people – two men and three women – were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a building. They are currently in custody.
