Firefighters Tackle Derelict Penwortham Building Fire

Emergency services rushed to the scene of a fire this afternoon in Penwortham.

Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service responded to calls shortly before 5:30pm on Thursday to a derelict building on fire at Factory Lane.

Crews attended from various stations around the South Ribble to tackle the blaze.

In a statement released this evening, LFRS said,

“At 17:24 on the 1st August 2024, three fire engines from Penwortham, Bamber Bridge and Preston attended a derelict building fire on Factory Lane, Penwortham.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels, ventilation unit and partner saw to extinguish the fire. Crews remain in attendance.
