The A59 lane 1 East Bound is currently closed along with the M6 J31 Slip Road. These are closed due to a nearby fire and we anticipate for them to be closed for some time.

Please avoid the area and use alternative routes. We will provide an update as soon as possible.

“The incident will be reduced to six fire engines and two aerial ladder platforms. Crews are expected to remain in attendance throughout today monitoring and extinguishing the fire.

Road closures remain in place and we are working closely with partner agencies to minimise the disruption to the local community. We would like to thank everyone for their support and patience with this on-going incident.
