Witness Appeal Following Death Of Man In Eccles

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man has sadly died following an incident in Eccles back in June.

In a statement released today, Greater Manchester Police said,

“At 2pm on Sunday 23rd June 2024, police were called to the reports of an unresponsive male on Princess Street in Eccles.

The male, aged in his 50s, had been sighted riding a pushbike just prior to the incident. He was taken to hospital, where he sadly passed away.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who may know more about this incident to come forward.

Detective Constable Seddon, of our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a man sadly lost his life. The man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.

“We are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident but are now in a position to appeal to witnesses.

“Given the time of day and how busy the area was, we are confident that someone may have seen what happened to this man, can help provide answers for his family and establish the facts surrounding the incident.
