Police Appeal Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision In Samlesbury

Police have launched an appeal after a man in his 70s sadly died following a collision in Samlesbury.

In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said,

“We’re appealing for information and footage after a man died following a collision in Samlesbury.

On Wednesday the 24th of July, we were made aware by Lancashire Coroners that on Friday (July 19) at 4:45pm, there was an unreported collision between a Yamaha SXR900 and a Volkswagen Golf on the junction of Cuerdale Lane and Vicarage Lane.

Sgt Thomas Malley, from our Roads Policing Unit said: “Very sadly, the rider of the motorbike,  a 77-year-old man later died in hospital. 

Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly distressing time. As part of our investigation I would urge anyone who may have CCTV, Dashcam footage, if they have witnessed the collision or have any information to please make contact on 101 quoting log 0523 of July 24 or email SCIU@lancashire.police.uk”
