A man has died following a road traffic collision on the M6 on Monday.
In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said,
“We’ve got some very sad news to bring you.
A 33-year-old man has died following a collision on the M6 at Billsborough, near Preston, which happened earlier this week.
Our officers were called at 2pm on Monday (22nd July) to the southbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 33 and 32.
They found that a Seat Altea car had left the carriageway and rolled several times.
The driver, who is from Carlisle, suffered severe head injuries and was taken to hospital.
Sadly, he died yesterday (23rd July). A file will be prepared and passed to HM Coroner in due course.
A woman in her 20s and two children who were passengers in the car, were taken to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Another passenger, a woman in her 60s, remains in hospital.
We continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision and for anyone who has dashcam footage from the motorway around the time of the collision.
