Lancashire Police’s Specialist Ops provides a snapshot of their daily work keeping the roads across Lancashire safe.
In a social media update, Lancs Specialist Ops said,
Wondering what our Specialist Operations roads policing team deal with in a day? Here’s just a small snapshot of some drink and drug driving arrest highlights from a 24 hour period over the weekend…
Collision on Deepdale Road, Preston where the driver has lost control and collided with a number of parked cars, the car has then flipped onto its side. The driver, a 51 year old man from Preston blew 83 at the roadside and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. He was subsequently released whilst our enquiries continue.
Stopped a car on Bournes Row, Hoghton, the driver, a 43 year old woman from Preston blew 127 at the roadside and was arrested on suspicion of drink driving. She was charged with driving with excess alcohol and bailed to appear before Preston Magistrates on 29th August. Her car was also seized.
Stopped a car on Junction 9 of the M61 and the driver, a 43 year old man from Wakefield was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after providing a positive drug wipe. He was subsequently released whilst our enquiries continue.
Stopped a car on the M6 around Junction 31 and the driver, a 38 year old man from Thornton-Cleveleys provided a positive drug wipe and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. He was subsequently released whilst our enquiries continue.
Stopped a car on The M6 in Broughton and the driver, a 39 year old man from Preston was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after blowing 55 at the roadside. He was charged with driving with excess alcohol and bailed to appear before Preston Magistrates on 27th August.
