A major city centre road was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the collision on Saturday afternoon.
The car involved had overturned close to HMP Preston Prison, forcing Lancashire Police to close the junction of Ribbleton Lane with Deepdale Road for several hours on a busy Saturday afternoon whilst recovery took place.
In a social media post, Preston Police said,
Please be aware that Ribbleton Lane, Preston is currently closed at the junction with Deepdale Road following a Road Traffic Collision. Please avoid the area and find an alternative route where possible.
Pictures from the scene show multiple Police vehicles and a car overturned with extensive damage close to the traffic lights.
The road was closed from around 3pm and reopened around 8.30pm.
It is unknown what injuries the occupants sustained at this time.
Lancashire Police and Northwest Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
