As Greater Manchester Police continue to root out bad apples within the force, they have given an update into a recent case where a police officer tested positive for cocaine during a roadside drugs test.

The officer who has not been named by the force was dismissed from his position this afternoon by the Chief Constable.

In a post made this evening, Greater Manchester Police said,

“We’ve sacked an officer for failing a roadside breath test for cocaine as we continue to root out and boot out those not fit to wear police uniform.

The Chief Constable dismissed the officer this afternoon and has now overseen the dismissal of 94 officers since he joined the force three years ago.

This year alone 24 officers have been dismissed as we can continue to ensure we are rooting out and booting out more quickly officers who are unable to serve the public of Greater Manchester.
