A man from Wirral has been charged as part of an investigation into domestic violence.
In a social media update, Merseyside Police said,
“We have charged a 41-year-old Wirral man with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation.
Officers were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) at around 3.10am on Saturday 13 July following reports of a domestic incident at a property in Liscard.
Bryan Watson of Vittoria Close, Birkenhead, was remanded into custody to appear at Merseyside Domestic Violence Remand Court today, Monday 15 July.
Detective Inspector Peter Rexwinkel said: “There is help available to anyone who may be suffering domestic abuse of any kind and together with partner agencies, we will do all that we can to support you.
“Domestic abuse can happen to anyone and we have specially trained officers who will listen to you and support you with sensitivity and compassion.
“I would ask everyone to look out for family members, friends or neighbours that may be suffering. By contacting us, you could be helping someone who is too afraid to help themselves. Everything you tell us is taken extremely seriously and will be investigated thoroughly.
