A man has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries following an assault in Farnworth.
In an appeal posted today, Greater Manchester Police said,
“Officers are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured in an assault on Buckley Lane, Farnworth, at around midnight yesterday (Thursday 11 July).
Shortly after 12am, officers received reports that a man had been attacked outside a property, suffering serious injuries. The man, in his 40s, remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning.
Officers have been on the scene throughout the day and their enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Neil Moss, from GMP’s Bolton district, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this awful incident to get in touch with us as we continue with our initial enquiries.
“A man remains in hospital in a serious condition and while we have made an arrest, our work is still very much ongoing. I would ask anyone in the local area with relevant CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or mobile phone footage to please get in touch with us – your assistance could prove invaluable.”
