Police have made four more arrests in their fight to tackle drug supply across Lancashire. This comes after nine people were charged with drug offences last week following raids in Bacup by Lancashire Police.

In a social media update, Lancashire Police said,

“We have this morning (Wednesday, July 10th) arrested four more people as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of Class A drugs in East Lancashire.

Four males aged between 14 and 40 were arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs in the early morning raids at addresses in Bacup. They are currently in custody.

This morning’s activity follows raids last week which saw nine people charged.

We also appealed for help last week to find Anthony McKenna and he has now been arrested and is currently in custody.

DCI John Roy, of East CID, said: “This morning’s activity carries on from where we left off last week – that is taking action against those who peddle drugs in our communities.

“I want once again to thank the community for their continued support, and I hope that seeing these results both reassures them that we will take action and encourages them to continue to report suspicious activity, either directly to the police or anonymously to Crimestoppers.”
