Police in Chorley have made a significant find after receiving community intelligence in relation to the strong smell of cannabis.

Officers from the neighbourhood team were able to act quickly, arresting a suspect and carrying out a drug warrant at a property in Coppull where they discovered a large cannabis setup.

In a social media update, Chorley Police said,

“You told us there was a strong persistent cannabis smell on one of the streets of Coppull, following some quick work from our Neighbourhood Officers we were able to swiftly arrest a suspect and perform a S18 search on the property finding 214 Cannabis plants!

They had bypassed the electricity meter, and terrifyingly, the fuse was so unstable it was too hot to hold presenting a very real risk of fire.

Cannabis grows open up avenues to so many crimes, including but not limited to exploiting vulnerable people and children, and is a major safety risk to the public.
