Police officers patrolling the streets of Accrington give an update on their work as part of Operation Centurion.
In a social media update, Hyndburn Police said,
“Op Centurion is a government funded operation designed to target Anti-social behaviour, this involves a number of officers visible on foot patrol targeting hot spot areas in an around specified locations in Accrington.
This afternoon, whilst out and about we have completed a number of pro-active stop searches, seized a quantity of drugs and located a large knife which was concealed in a plastic bag in an alley way along with items involved in drug supply. During our tour we have also issued two penalty notices for disorder.
Op Centurion currently runs from Friday-Monday each week, we will act on information gained through the public so please feel free to come and speak to us if you see us out and about!
