A man has sadly died following a road traffic collision in Colne this morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in New Market Street after reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Sadly, it has since been confirmed that a man died at the scene.
Roads remained closed as police continue their investigations.
In a statement, a Lancashire Police Spokesperson said,
“We received a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on New Market Street in Colne at around 11.10am today ( July 4).
“Very sadly, the pedestrian, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Efforts are ongoing to locate and inform his next of kin.
“Anyone with information that can assist our enquiries can contact us on 101 quoting log 0415 of July 4.”
