Three men have been arrested by Merseyside Police as part of an investigation into child cruelty allegedly to have taken place at a special educational needs school in Wirral.
This follows an undercover investigation launched by the BBC, which aired a programme back in June that showed cruelty towards children who attended the school.
In a statement released by Merseyside Police, they confirmed the following,
“Detectives investigating allegations of child cruelty at a school in Wirral have today (Wednesday 3 July) arrested three men.
An investigation was launched after the BBC broadcast video footage recorded by an undercover journalist at the school on 17 June.
A 43-year-old man from Meols, a 21-year-old man from Wallasey and a 26-year-old man from Irby have been arrested on suspicion of child cruelty.
They have been taken into custody to be interviewed and enquiries into the matter are ongoing.
