Lancashire Police are currently dealing with an incident in Brierfield after reports of an assault.
A cordon has been put in place around Arthur Street in the town whilst investigations get underway and is expected to remain in place for some time.
The nature of the incident has not yet been disclosed by Lancashire Police but they have advised people to avoid the area and thanked them for their patience.
In a social media post, Nelson, Brierfield and Barrowford Police said,
“We’re currently at the scene of multiple road closures around Arthur Street in Brierfield.
The road is closed while we investigate reports of an assault and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.
Please avoid the area and we’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.
We have approached Lancashire Police for comment and will update once we have more details.
