A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in the back in Brierfield.
Police descended on the street, and a cordon was put in place whilst investigations went underway.
In an update earlier today, a Lancashire Police Spokesperson said,
“We were called by the North West Ambulance Service at 9.59pm on Tuesday (2nd July) to Arthur Street, Brierfield, to a report of an assault.
“Our officers, some of them armed attended, and it was found that a man aged in his 30s had been assaulted and suffered stab injuries to his back.
“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are serious, but thankfully, they aren’t life-threatening.
“A 27-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of section 18 GBH and is currently in custody.”
