Lancashire Police have arrested a man on suspicion of drug offences after carrying out a proactive stop on the M6 Motorway.
The road policing unit discovered a large quantity of drugs in the vehicle during a search after stopping the vehicle near Chorley.
In a social media update, Chorley Police said,
“We have arrested a man on suspicion of drugs offences following a proactive vehicle stop on the M6 near Chorley.
Officers from our Roads Crime Unit signalled for the BMW 3 series to stop as it was travelling south on the motorway. The driver of the car tried to run away but was detained nearby.
A search of the vehicle found around 13kg of Cannabis thought to be worth around £50,000 which has now been seized.
A 31 year old man from London is currently under arrest on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
