We bring you another weekly roundup of the incidents Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have been called to over the last week.
Personnel risk their lives daily to keep us the public across Lancashire safe by attending incidents that ultimately save lives, whether that be running into a burning building tackling a blaze or cutting someone free from a vehicle following a road traffic accident the work of Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service is invaluable.
We have compiled a list of the incidents attended across Lancashire with the Fylde Coast ranking top of the list for the most call outs coming in at a total of seven incidents over a one week period.
Fleetwood Domestic Building Fire
At 10:50 am, on Sunday, 23 June, three fire engines from Fleetwood, Bispham, and Blackpool attended a domestic building fire on Carr Road, Fleetwood. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a dry powder extinguisher, and two positive-pressure ventilation units to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for three and a half hours.
Heaton Vehicle Fire
At 17:48 pm on Sunday, 23 June, two fire engines from Lancaster and Morecambe attended a vehicle fire on Heaton Bottom Road, Heaton. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for forty minutes.
Oswaldtwistle Road Traffic Collision
At 08:44 am on Monday, 24 June, two fire engines from Hyndburn attended a road traffic collision on Union Road, Oswaldtwistle. The incident involved three vehicles. Firefighters used a hearth kit and worked to make the scene safe. They were in attendance for approximately twenty minutes.
Lancaster Road Traffic Collision
On Monday 24th June at 08:56 am, Two fire engines from Lancaster and Morecambe attended a road traffic collision on Thurland Court, Morecambe. Firefighters extricated one casualty using cutting gear and stabilisation equipment. The casualty was left in the care of North West Ambulance Service. Crews were in attendance for one hour and thirty minutes.
Burnley Domestic Building Fire
On Monday 24th June at 21:54 pm Three fire engines from Burnley, Padiham and Nelson attended a domestic building fire on Pink Street, Burnley. Crews used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus and one positive pressure ventilation fan. Crews were engaged for approximately forty minutes.
Poulton-le-Fylde Domestic Building Fire
On Tuesday 25th June at 14:16 pm Two fire engines from Blackpool and Bispham attended a fire on Queensway, Poulton-le-Fylde. The fire involved a ground floor flat, and crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, and a positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.
Lancaster Domestic Building Fire
On Monday 25th June at 19:51 pm Fire engines from Lancaster, Hornby and Bolton-le-Sands attended a fire involving a room in a property on Westbourne Road, Lancaster. Firefighters used one hose reel, four breathing apparatus, and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for three hours.
Morecambe Domestic Building Fire
On Tuesday 26th June at 00.09 am Four fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe and Bolton-le-Sands attended a fire at a property on Cross Street in Morecambe. Crews used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera. Crews remain on scene.
Darwen Domestic Building Fire
On Tuesday 26th June at 03:37 am Three fire engines from Darwen and Blackburn attended a fire at a property on Cloister Drive in Darwen. Crews used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel, a triple extension ladder, and a positive pressure ventilation unit at the incident. Two casualties were rescued by fire crews. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and forty minutes.
Wesham Vehicle Fire
On Wednesday 27th June at 09:50 am Two fire engines from South Shore and Blackpool attended an incident on the Kirkham Wesham Bypass, Wesham, Preston. The incident involved a JCB digger on fire on the road. Crews used one hose reel and were in attendance for forty-five minutes.
Blackpool Commercial Building Fire
On Wednesday 27th June Three fire engines from Blackpool and South Shore were called at 13:40 pm to reports of a fire on Promenade, Blackpool. Firefighters are using a positive pressure ventilation unit, a dry powder extinguisher, an internal hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and thirty minutes.
Skelmersdale Rubbish Fire
On Wednesday 27th June at 19:01 pm Three fire engines from Skelmersdale and Ormskirk and one fire engine from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended a commercial building fire on Firbeck Birch Green, Skelmersdale. The fire involved a small quantity of wood and rubbish. Crews used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.
Bacup Building Fire
On Wednesday 27th at 22:44 pm Four fire engines from Bacup, Rawtenstall and Burnley attended a fire involved a wagon and two stables on fire on Newchurch Old Road, Bacup. Crews used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and were at the scene for two hours.
Warton Building Fire
On Wednesday 27th June at 22:55 pm Four fire engines from Wesham, Lytham and St Annes attended a building fire involving signage at the front of a property on Lytham Road, Warton, Preston. Crews used one hose reel and two triple extension ladders to extinguish the fire and were at the scene for just under one hour.
Thornton-Cleveleys Building Fire
On Wednesday 27th June at 23:01 pm Four fire engines from Bispham, Fleetwood and Blackpool attended a building fire on Fleetwood Road North, Thornton Cleveleys. Crews used four breathing apparatus and dry powder extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Crews were at the scene for two hours.
Lancaster Outbuilding Fire
On Thursday 28th June at 06:02 Six fire engines, the high volume pump, and the water bowser are in attendance at an outbuilding fire, approximately 22m x 56m, on Littlefell Lane, Lancaster. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, four jets, one forty-five millimeter jet, one light portable pump and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for several hours.
Blackpool Outbuilding Fire
On Thursday 28th June at 08:34 Three fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham and South Shore attended an incident on Cromwell Road, Blackpool. The fire involved an outbuilding which spread to a mid-terraced property. Firefighters used one hose reel, one positive pressure ventilation fan, one triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour.
