The weekend is coming to an end, and the start of a brand new week is just around the corner.
Each week, we bring you the details of incidents that our great fire & Rescue personnel in Lancashire’s Fire & Rescue Service go to deal with on a daily basis.
We have compiled a list below of all the incidents attended to over a one week period.
Clitheroe Commercial Building Fire
At 13:35 on Monday 17 June, four fire engines from Clitheroe and Preston attended a commercial building fire on Unnamed Road, Cow Ark, Clitheroe. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one 45mm jet, one light portable pump, and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. One casualty was assess by crews. Firefighters remained in attendance for two and a quarter hours.
Blackburn Vehicle Fire
At 22:41 on Monday 17 June, two fire engines from Blackburn attended a vehicle fire on Waterloo Close, Blackburn. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for forty-five minutes.
Vehicle Fire M6 Northbound
At 11:16 on Tuesday 18 June, two fire engines from Chorley and Horwich (of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service) attended a vehicle fire on Anderton Lane, Anderton. The incident involved one vehicle. Firefighters used two hose reels and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for an hour and a half.
Haslingden Road Traffic Collision
At 15:03 on Tuesday 18 June, two fire engines from Rawtenstall and Hyndburn attended a road traffic collision on the A56 in Haslingden, Rossendale. The incident involved two vehicles. Firefighters used Holmatro equipment and a longboard to release one casualty from their vehicle, before placing them in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews were in attendance for an hour.
Blackpool Commercial Building Fire
At 21:20 on Tuesday 18 June, four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, and South Shore, together with an aerial ladder platform from Blackpool, attended a commercial building fire on Chapel Street, Blackpool. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for an hour.
Nelson Outbuilding Fire
At 23:22 on Tuesday 18 June, two fire engines from Nelson attended an outbuilding fire on Thursden Place, Nelson. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for approximately forty minutes.
Burnley Vehicle Fire
At 02:38 on Wednesday 19 June, two fire engines from Burnley attended a vehicle fire on Dugdale Road, Burnley. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for an hour.
Trawden Outbuilding Fire
At 06:59 on Wednesday 19th June, two fire engines from Burnley and Nelson attended an outbuilding fire on Weavers Court, Trawden. Firefighters used one hose reel, one breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera, and a triple-extension ladder to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for an hour.
Preston Road Traffic Collision
At 10:34 on Wednesday 19th June, four fire engines from Preston, Fulwood, Bamber Bridge, and Chorley, together with specialist Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) appliances, attended a road traffic collision on Blackpool Road, Preston. The incident involved one vehicle that had struck a commercial building. Firefighter worked to make the scene safe. One casualty received treatment from Lancashire Constabulary officers and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews remained in attendance for an hour and twenty minutes.
Morecambe Domestic Building Fire
At 05:45 on Thursday 20th June, two fire engines from Morecambe attended a domestic building fire on West End Road, Morecambe. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a thermal imaging camera, two positive-pressure ventilation units, a hearth kit, and small tools to extinguish the fire. They remained in attendance for approximately six hours.
Blackburn Outbuilding Fire
At 13:31 on Thursday 20th June, two fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen attended an outbuilding fire on Cliff Street, Blackburn. The incident involved an outbuilding approximately 10x3m in size and also affected an allotment. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. They currently remain in attendance.
Chorley Vehicle Fire
At 00:20 on Friday 21st June, one fire engine from Chorley attended a vehicle fire on Croft Road, Chorley. The incident involved one vehicle. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for forty-five minutes.
Skelmersdale Commercial Building Fire
At 04:35 on Friday 21st June, six fire engines from Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Fulwood, and Leyland, including supporting fire engines from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, attended a commercial building fire on Holland Moss, Skelmersdale. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one positive-pressure ventilation unit, a thermal imaging camera, and two main jets to extinguish the fire.
Rawtenstall Vehicle Fire
At 08:06 on Friday 21st June, one fire engine from Rawtenstall attended a vehicle fire on Haslingden Old Road, Rawtenstall. The incident involved one vehicle. Firefighters used two hose reels, one breathing apparatus, and an environmental pack to extinguish the fire. They remained in attendance for an hour and fifty minutes.
Blackpool Rescue Operation
At 11:46 on Fridsy 21st June, three fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, and Chorley attended a rescue of a person incident on Bispham Road, Blackpool. Firefighters used high-pressure airbag step chocks to release one casualty from under a vehicle. The casualty was then placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews were in attendance for forty minutes.
Burnley Road Traffic Collision
At 14:41 on Friday 21st June, two fire engines from Burnley attended a road traffic collision on Partridge Hill, Burnley. The incident involved two vehicles. Firefighters used Holmatro cutting equipment to release two casualties from their vehicle. Three casualties were placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews remained in attendance for an hour and five minutes.
Nelson Domestic Building Fire
At 02:15 on Saturday, 22nd June, two fire engines from Nelson and Burnley attended a domestic building fire on Waidshouse Road, Nelson. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, and a positive-pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for two hours.
Blackpool Commercial Building Fire
At 09:39 on Saturday, 22nd June, four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, and South Shore attended a commercial building fire on Church Street, Blackpool. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for an hour and forty minutes.
Walton-le-Dale Road Traffic Collision
At 17:00 on Saturday, 22nd June, two fire engines from Preston and Bamber Bridge attended a road traffic collision on Walton Road, Walton-le-Dale. The incident involved two vehicles. Firefighters released two casualties from their vehicle. They were in attendance for an hour and thirty-five minutes.
Chorley Vehicle Fire
At 17:33 on Saturday, 22nd June, two fire engines from Chorley attended a vehicle fire on Hartwood Green, Chorley. The incident involved one vehicle and spread to nearby properties. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. They were in attendance for approximately an hour and twenty minutes.
