A man has been charged after an elderly woman was robbed of her handbag in Bolton.
In a social media update, Greater Manchester Police said,
“Officers secure charges for robbery after elderly woman was targeted
Our Bolton Neighbourhood Crime team have successfully charged a man in his 30s with a robbery offence involving an 80-year-old woman as the victim.
Shane Allen (21/10/1990) of no fixed abode has been charged with personal robbery.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday 20 June 2024).
This charge is a result of an investigation that took place following an incident on Back Mornington Road, Bolton.
Detective Sergeant Carla Deighton from Bolton’s Neighbourhood Crime Team said; “We understand robbery has a profound impact on any victim and we remain committed to identifying those responsible so we can continue to make our local community a safe place to live and work in.
“Information we receive helps us everyday in our enquiries and investigations and we would like to remind everyone to keep reporting incidents to us as soon as possible.
