A mother has made a frantic appeal on social media for help in finding her son who has gone missing on a tenerife island.

Jay Slater 19, from Lancashire, travelled to Tenerife with a group of friends to attend the NRG Festival that took place over the weekend at the Hard Rock Cafe on the island before going missing on Monday morning.

In a social media appeal, Debbie Duncan, Jay’s Mother said,

“Jay is still missing. I thought I’d just update with you all and say thanks so much for all the shares and messages.

I can not process what is going on right now. I’m currently sitting waiting with his brother at the airport waiting to fly out. He had been to an event but then went off with people who were staying miles away. He decided around 8 am that he would set off walking back and his phone battery died around 08:50am.”

Jay’s last known location was around the Natural Park of Teno in Tenerife around 08:50am and he hasn’t been seen since, he was wearing a grey t-shirt with light green sleeves, shorts, trainers and carrying a black bag.
