GoFund Me Set Up For Boy Killed After Being Hit By Tree In Nottingham

Three arrested following the death of a boy who was hit by a falling tree in Nottingham at the weekend.

In a social media post, Nottinghamshire Police said,

“A 16-year-old boy has died after being injured by a falling tree.

Our officers were called to Rotherham Baulk, Carlton-in-Lindrick, at 11.21am on Saturday (15 June 2024) following reports the boy had been seriously hurt.

Police and paramedics attended the incident, however the boy was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 28 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

A 28-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Simon Harrison, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a tragic incident and my thoughts are with the boy’s family. They have asked for privacy at this most difficult time.

“The family are being supported by specially-trained officers as we continue to investigate exactly what happened.

“Our inquiries remain ongoing, and we are appealing for anyone with information, including witnesses and anyone who may have captured CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage, to please get in contact with us.”

A Gofund Me page was set up by a family member, which has already raised over £5,000 of its £10,000 target.

Aleksandra Ostapczuk said, “I have set this GoFundMe for my aunt. On 15th June, my aunt’s 16 year old son tragically died. He just finished his GCSE’s the day prior to the incident. We are trying to help her raise money to cover the costs of the funeral for him.

Kamil was a kind and loving boy who was taken away from us way too early.
