Police in conventry are appealing for information after a boy was tragically killed in a hit and run yesterday afternoon. The boy, named locally as 12-year-old Keaton Slater, sadly died as a result of his injuries.
In a social media appeal, Coventry Police said,
“We are appealing for information after a 12-year-old boy was tragically killed in #Coventry after he was hit by a car which failed to stop.
The collision took place shortly after 4.30pm last night (Friday) on Radford Road.
Despite the best efforts of our colleagues from the ambulance service the boy sadly died at the scene.
We are appealing for witnesses to the collision which involved a BMW vehicle or who may have any dash cam footage to please get in touch.
The vehicle was later seized but we are appealing for help to find the people who were in the vehicle at the time.
Sergeant Rich Evans, from our serious collision investigation unit, said: “We would appeal to the driver or for any of the passengers who were in the vehicle to do the right thing and to contact us. A 12-year-old boy has tragically lost his life and we need you to come forward and hand yourselves in.
“We are helping to support the family at this very difficult time as they try to comprehend what has happened.
