Police Advise To Avoid The Area In Barnoldswick As Firefighters Respond To Blaze

Police are currently in attendance assisting Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service at a fire in East Lancashire.

In a social media post, Lancashire Police said,

“Good Evening, we are currently assisting the Fire Service with some road closures on Hollins Road, Pennine Way and Taylor Street Barnoldswick.

Please avoid the area and we will provide an update when we can.

Images from the scene taken by a local shows a building fire well alight at the former Gospel Mission Hall.

Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said,

“At 20:22 on the 15th June 2024, four fire engines from Nelson, Burnley and Colne are in attendance at a derelict building fire on Hollins Road, Barnoldswick. Firefighters are wearing breathing apparatus and using three hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
We are asking residents to stay indoors and avoid the area”.
