The entry slip road was closed by emergency services earlier this afternoon due to a collision involving a fire engine.
In a social media post, Lancashire Police said,
“We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on the entry slip road to the west bound carriageway at Junction 10 of the M65.
The road is closed due to road traffic collision and we anticipate this will be closed for some time.
We’ll provide an update once cleared, and thank you in advance for your patience.
Four occupants were taken to hospital following the collision, with one having suffered a head injury.
No further details have been released at this stage on their condition.
We have approached Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service for comment.
