A family has paid tribute to a young man killed in a road traffic collision in Rotherham at the weekend as police launch murder investigation.
In a social media update, South Yorkshire Police said,
“A Man who died in Rotherham road traffic collision has been named.
A man who died in road traffic collision on Sunday (2 June) in the Wickersley area has been named by his family.
Shortly after 4pm, police were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a silver Land Rover Discovery and silver Subaru Forester on Morthen Road at the junction with Moat Lane.
Emergency services attended and 20-year-old Mackenzie Ball, who was a passenger in the Land Rover, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The family of Mackenzie, known as Mac, are being supported by specialist officers. They have shared the following tribute to Mac:
“Our family are absolutely devastated at the loss of our son Mac. He has been taken from us too soon. If anyone has any information about the incident, we ask that they contact the police. We ask that we may be given some privacy in which to grieve at this time.”
