Police in Greater Manchester are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was sadly killed after being run over in the city centre.
In a social media appeal Greater Manchester Police said,
“Police appeal for information after young woman sadly dies following a collision on Mauldeth Road West in Manchester city centre.
At 11:52am on Friday 31 May, we were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 22-year-old woman, sadly passed away at hospital as a result of her injuries.
Sergeant Andrew Page from our Serous Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with this young woman’s family at this tragic time. They are being supported by specially trained officers and we will continue to do all we can to get answers for them.
“If you witnessed anything, or you have any further information, we’d be grateful if you come forward and help with our enquiries.”
