Lancashire Police’s Road Policing teams work 24 hours a day 365 days a year, keeping the roads of Lancashire safe for other road users and locking the criminals up who use the road network to carry out crime.  Over the last two years, they have seized millions.

In a update on social media, Lancashire Police Specialist Ops said,

“£2 million total seized by our Spec Ops teams

Our SpecOps team had a busy shift on Wednesday, with a stop in Charnock Richard bringing the total cash seized by these teams to over £2 million in the past 2 years!

At around 3:10pm, our officers stopped a white Audi A6 at Charnock Richard services. Upon searching the car, they found cash estimated to the value of £15,000.

A 32-year-old man from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He has since been released, no further action.

Over the past 2 years our Roads Policing Unit and Roads Crime Team have seized over £2 million worth of cash suspected of being linked to criminal activities or proceeds of crime.

In addition to criminal cash, Lancashire’s SpecOps teams are routinely intercepting movements of drugs, weapons and other illegal items. These can be attributable to a number of crimes, and our officers are dedicated to preventing them from happening.
