A 9-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital after a shooting at a restaurant in Hackney last night, Wednesday 29th May.
Police were called to reports of a shooting outside a turkish restaurant at around 9.20pm. When they arrived, they also found three adults with gunshot injuries.
A scene was put in place, and the victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment in a serious condition, with a 9-year-old girl in a critical condition.
Reports state that a person riding a motorbike opened fire before speeding off, Metropolitan Police Service have confirmed that the motorbike was found a short distance away, nobody has been arrested so far and investigations are continuing with a high visibility of armed officers in the area.
Metropolitan Police Service said,
“The girl was eating inside the restaurant at the time and didn’t believe she knew the other victims.
she was an “innocent victim of the indiscriminate nature of gun crime.”
The girl is fighting for her life, while three men who were sat outside aged 26, 37, and 42 are in a stable condition.
One of them faces “potentially life-changing injuries.” We have an open mind about the motive and want any witnesses and anyone with video or pictures to contact us.
Armed officers will remain on patrol as part of an increased police presence to provide “reassurance and support.”
