Police in Skelmersdale carried out another operation this evening as part of their fight against anti- social behaviour involving off-road bikes.
in a social media update, Skelmersdale Police said,
“Good evening, Skelmersdale!
Recently, with the support of WLBC and Safer Roads Team, alongside the Special Constabulary, Beacon Rangers, and Drone team, we have done another operation targeting off-road bike activity.
During the operation, we had a mix of officers in uniform and plain clothes, in vehicles and on mountain bikes, and conducted patrols in various locations throughout Skelmersdale and surrounding areas.
We did 2 search warrants in hopes of finding stolen off-road bikes that are being used in the Skelmersdale area. Thankfully, everything checked out, and no motorbikes found were stolen.
A suspected stolen electric bike was seized after causing nuisance and being used in an anti-social manner in the Digmoor area.
We continue to listen to your concerns regarding off-road bike activity, and we encourage people to report off road bikes activity via 101 or by reporting online. We will be doing more of these operations as we head into summer. The more you tell us, the more you can influence what we do and where we patrol. Sign up to ‘In The Know’ and let us know your thoughts.
Thank you for your continued support!
Stay safe. Skelmersdale Neighbourhood Policing Team.
