A pair from Nelson have been charged after a spate of thefts in the area in recent weeks.
In an update released today, Colne and West Craven Police said,
“You may have been aware of a spate of thefts from vehicles across Nelson and Colne as of late. These were generally committed in the early hours and often resulted in bank cards being taken and used in the local area.
You’ll be pleased to know that yesterday 2 people were arrested in relation to this. Today they have been charged with several offences and will be before the courts in due course. They are Roy White (51) and Danielle Trainer (43), both of Nelson.
White has been charged with 15 offences including thefts from motor vehicles, frauds and handling stolen goods and has been remanded to be put before the courts tomorrow (30/05/2024).
Trainer has been charged with 13 offences including fraud and handling stolen goods and has been bailed to attend court at a date in the near future.
Please be reminded that there are those that will take advantage of unlocked cars so, whilst you shouldn’t have to, please ensure you lock yours whenever you’re not with it.
