Breaking: Man Found Seriously Injured On East Lancashire Road In Kirby Has Sadly Died

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found last night with serious injuries on East Lancashire Road in Kirby.

In a statement made today, Merseyside Police said,

“We can confirm a man who was found with serious injuries in in Kirkby yesterday, Tuesday 28 May, has died.

At around 4.50pm we received a report the 51-year-old man had been found with serious injuries at the junction of East Lancashire Road and Moorgate Road South. He was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

A Home Office postmortem is due to take place today to establish the cause of death.

The man is still to be formally identified but his next of kin have been notified and are being supported by specially trained officers.

An investigation remains ongoing to establish what happened to the man and how he received his injuries.

We are examining a number of lines of enquiry whether he suffered a medical episode, was hit by a vehicle or was the victim of an assault.

We are continuing to appeal for witnesses, and for any CCTV and dash camera footage which may have captured the incident or the male pedestrian, who was wearing blue jeans and a light-coloured top, walking along Moorgate Road South.
