A man wanted by police in the Fylde Coast at the weekend has been handed a prison sentence after pleading guilty to theft from motor vehicles in the St.Annes area.

Ajay Wilkinson, 20, from Burnley, was being hunted down over the weekend by officers in relation to the offences.

In a social media appeal, Blackpool Police shared an image of the suspect and made an appeal to help track him down.

The suspect himself then very cheekily commented on his own wanted appeal teasing the police with his own little rap. Here’s what he said,

“Chill like a villain,

Buzzing Like a bee

Riding like a soldier

Police can’t catch me’

Blackpool Police were quick to respond with their own little rap,

“Committ bare crime

You won’t stay free

Man’s just a civvy

Soon be entering your plea”

The post attracted a flurry of comments, likes and shares across social media and not long after the Police proved to be correct and the suspect was arrested, interviewed, charged and remanded to appear before the next available court.

In an update, Blackpool Police said,

Well, that comment didn’t age well. Maybe it should’ve said, “buzzing like a bee in HMP.”

“No need for funny quotes or any rapping, 32 weeks in prison says it all.

Wilkinson was handed a 32-week custodial sentence following his appearance at Court on Tuesday, 28th May.
