Police Advice After Spate Of Thefts From Vehicles In East Lancashire

Lancashire Police have warned against leaving valuables in vehicles after a spate  thefts that are currently being investigated by local officers.

In a social media post, Colne and West Craven Police said,

“As a community, we need to do the following:

Lock your vehicles day and night.
lock your sheds and garages.
lock your doors and windows.
do not leave items in your vehicles.
do not leave items of value on display.
in fact, lock away everything you can to protect your property.

Believe this or not, but we have had recent thefts of wallets/bank cards from vehicles during the early hours. Keeping such items in a vehicle is not a good idea any time, but then to leave it insecure is very appealing to the burglars and thieves.  I know what you are thinking… ‘we should be allowed to leave our items and for them to be safe’ a fact that no one can argue with BUT the reality is we do have to keep our precious items safe.

So, let’s be strong and make it hard for the offenders.

As for offences that have recently occurred, we are investigating these….. watch this site for an update very soon!!
