Royal Blackburn hospital sees high demand in services today which could mean longer waiting times if your visiting accident and emergency.

In a social media post, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust said,

“There are currently over 100 people in our Emergency Department at Royal Blackburn Hospital. Our colleagues are working really hard to see people as quickly as possible but with a high number of poorly patients in the department, there may be some long waits.

We are sorry if you’re not seen as quickly as you would like. Please know that the team is doing all they can.

If your condition isn’t life or limb threatening and you can avoid going to A&E by either visiting your GP surgery, going to a local pharmacy or contacting NHS 111 for advice, that could potentially prevent you having a long wait.

Thank you for your patience and understanding
